I’m pleased to report that starting March 21, 2011, I’m the new deputy sports editor for Spanish services at The Associated Press.
On this position, I’m in charge of handling content from Latin America contributors and stories that are translated from our English services. I will also take part in special events coverage, such as in the Copa America in Argentina and the Panamerican Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
My mission, according to the official announcement, is to “help improve the quality and quantity of stories for the sports report in Spanish.” I will also be involved in innovative projects aimed at broadening our offer to clients.
